I think you could work as public relations? My cousin works within the school as their public relations I can't name the exact things that she does. But I can give an example. At our school something happened that half our boys track team was kicked off and my cousin had to deal with all the press about it and cover the whole thing up.

You could do all sorts of social work (adoption, the foster system, etc). You could evaluate preschools. You could probably be a school therapist (maybe a private school wouldn't demand a Masters in Psych?). Check out university websites for both degrees and see what their graduates are up to or what their faculty used to do.

What certification does a Master in Education lead to in New York

What certification does a Master in Education lead to in New York?
I just finished my Master's in Education with a specialization in Elementary Reading and Literacy from Walden University. This does not lead to a certification in reading. I am putting together my resume and don't know what to write, if anything, in my certification section for my Masters. Please help! Thanks!

The certification is granted by the state, not through the college. Here is a link to the NYS website for the certification process. You need to apply for a particular certification of interest to you and them go through the qualification process. Best of luck. BTW, perhaps you can decide on a certification of interest an start your application process, so at least you can say on your resume that your in the process of obtaining a particular certification.

only on need, and it would be a loan than a scholarship. Don't recall any universities handing out scholorships for master's degrees.

As a teacher, in my experience most Master's degrees in Education a pretty good. (I'm a teacher, 2 of my brothers are teachers and 2 of my sisters are teachers.... so I come from a teaching family, you could say) If you have time to do a Teacher Assistantship, that will pay for college, so I'd do that. If you're teaching while studying, scheduling will come more into play than anything else. i.e. School A may have the highest ranked Education department in the country, but if they have requisite courses scheduled in the middle of the day while you're at work, it won't benefit you. Also, if you're already teaching, I suggest considering a Master's degree in Administration. Even if you decide not to become a Principal, having that option is beneficial, especially as you never know what will happen in your district during your teaching career. Another option is to get a degree outside of your profession. (i.e. an evening J.D program/ night school, or an M.B.A) These will give you perspective and expand your options in the future.

From the fall of 2010, foreign students outside the EU, EEA, or Switzerland and who are not studying for a PhD must pay fees and they are a load of money! Below you can find information about it. Starting with autumn semester 2011, the Swedish government has introduced tuition fees for students who are not citizens of the EU, EEA or Switzerland. Tuition will apply to bachelorĂ¢€™s and masterĂ¢€™s programs and courses, while PhD programs remain tuition-free. Universities and university colleges set their own fees, and these will vary between SEK 80,000Ă¢€“140,000 per academic year for most subjects. However, for example art, medical or pilot programs can have notably higher tuition. The fee for the Studera.nu application to Swedish universities and colleges for these students has been set to SEK 900. At the same time, scholarships are also available. The Swedish Institute (publisher of Studyinsweden.se) administers several of these. More information is available here. Additionally, Swedish universities will offer scholarships directly to non-EU/EEA students from autumn 2011. You can read more in our article, and the information on this page will be updated when details are finalized during the winter of 2010. Nota bene: The above fees only apply to citizens of countries outside the EU, EEA and Switzerland, and if these students are not part of an bilateral agreement or exchange between universities.

Can I be a PhD when I have poor performance in my first year of Master education

Can I be a PhD when I have poor performance in my first year of Master education?
Initially, I was quite confident that I will be able to do a doctoral work. However, I am dissatisfied with my own performance in the first year of my master study. I had a problem to keep my confidence on this matter. Any suggestion are most welcome. Thanks a lot.

you're not alone. many Ph.D. students are plagued by their insecurities. Never give up.

What I will offer you is the advice of my favorite professor when I was in my 4th year of my undergrad...She told me that no door is ever closed to you. It just might be a little harder to open. She was giving me advice about my own botched academic record. While I might not be accepted into any graduate schools based on my marks, there were plenty of things I could do- if I really wanted to get there. I could take some extra courses to improve my grades, I could enroll in a certificate program and get perfect scores to prove I was willing to work hard despite my failings in my undergraduate years, I could gain experience in the field in which I wanted to study by volunteering or helping professors with research. If you really want to do something, then you should have no trouble proving to anyone that you CAN do it!

This obviously means you've been in school for quite a while. maybe you're just getting burned out. Focus. Finish the master and take a break from school. Giving yourself time off in the near future would at least be a light at the end of the tunnel. Relax.. get some more work experience. Refocus yourself, make intermediate goals. When you're ready, go get your doctorate.

At the beginning you have to check the reason of the bad performance, then you have to solve the problem associated with this performance. Many people (even me) faced mach problems with their study especially in master, but they could overcome this problems and then get the PhD. You have to trust by your self and your abilities. Good luck
